what is the best way to do a change of address with uscis for pending applications ? I tried online changing ar-11 and for each individual case nothing seems to be getting in effect, my FP notice still gets forwarded to the old address. I also even called the uscis customer service and changed it , still no luck. any one had similar experiences ? please advise on what to do .

I had applied on July 19th to Nebraska. My I-140 was approved from TX.
Today I received transfer notice WAC...., mentioning that they have transferred my case to TX Service center.
The receipt date is of Sep 14th, Notice date of Sep 17th'2007.
Does it mean I lost the original filing receipt date of July 20th'2007.

Lou Dobbs said on Thursday he is considering career options including possible runs for the White House or U.S. Senate. I'm a little confused about my options in starting my H1 extension process and applying for my wife's H4 application.
Here is my current status :
6 yr H1-B period is ending on Dec 22, 2009. I'm getting married in India in October and will apply for my wife's H4 immediately after. Here are my questions :
1. Will there be any problem with my wife's H4 application if there are just 2 months of validity left on my H1 visa?
2. I could potentially start my H1 extension process now. I'm eligible for a 3 year extension since the Priority date of Jan 3, 2006, on my EB2 application is not current. If I was to start my extension process now, my approval may not happen before October and my lawyer there may be some problems if I travel outside the country on a pending H1 application. Should I apply for my H1 extension now or after I come back to the US in November?
3. If I was to apply for H1 extension in Nov and don't get an approval by the time of my current H1 expiry in December, will I be out of status?

You should be fine. If you I-140 is not approved by 2008, you can apply for a 1 year extension based on the fact you have an approved labor. Otherwise you would get a 3 year extension.

is it possible and advisable to convert H1 B to H4 and go on searching for job and if find a job then coming back to H1? Are there any risks in this process? if so can some one explain me in detail?

Just came across this map, while booking my hotel.

I'm on H1b visa in my 6th year. Perm application has been filed and I hope to get it approved soon along with approved i-140 (fingers crossed).
From what I have read on this forum so far, H1b transfer to a new job after an approved I-140 seems to be possible even after 6 years on H1. My issue is that I currently work for a university (non-quota H1) so if I get a new job most likely it will be with a for profit company which would require me to get a new H1 (and not H1 transfer).
So, the question is whether it is possible to get a new H1 after 6 years on H1?

This is my first post. Thank you for allowing me to participate.
Just a passing thought - Would it help if members in each state meet (say on a Sunday) and come up with Strategies to mobilize more people in their respective states?
It will help the us organize better in each state. A senior member in each state would then coordinate and take strategy and activity related instructions and advice from immigrationvoice.org core members and implement those in his/her respective state.
If at all that is possible then immigrationvoice.org can maybe create statewise blogs or something that would update members in each states about upcoming activities.

Is it possible to extend H4 status after using EAD for a person whose I-485 pending in derivative status.
I read Cronin Memo reg. dual intent "Revision of March 14, 2000 Dual Intent Memorandum"
It seems to discuss reg. using AP to enter the country and maintaining H status.
Not sure if anyone here has done the extension of H4 after using EAD.

Hi,
My H1B is getting expire in Oct,2008.I am planning to extend my H1B. My wife came to US on H4 and converted to H1B (expiring on Sep-2009).
I applied I-485 Pending. Me and My wife got EAD and AP expiring Sep-25-2008. (Applied Renewal).Now My wife is working on EAD.

However, the new company filed H1B application and it got approved 2 weeks back, but forgot to file for H4 extension for my wife. My company is saying they will file for H4 extension (I-539) now, even though her visa/I-94 got expired and she doesn�t have to go back home. Do you think they are on right track? I�d really appreciate if anyone could suggest me on this.
