Say if one has two I-140 and wish to port the priority from the older one to the later one. And if the USCIS does not agree with your filing(maybe they will say the filing is not possible or not portable). What will they do? Will they deny the I-485 or will they just reject the application. If so will it cause an issue when the later priority date is reached and during the application of the following I-485.

I have 1-485 pending (my husband is main applicant for our greencard application).
I entered US last time using Advanced parole and I was working on EAD then. What should be my
1. Manner of Entry
2. Current immigration Status
I thought it's supposed to be Parolee with 1-485 pending. But only related drop down menu I cans see is PAR:Parolee. Is that what I should select?
I tried to find this in existing thread but could not find it. I will appreciate your help with this.

Guys,
I need some advice and your own experiences.
Right now i am with company A(EB3-I, PD:12/2001) and 485 is in progress.
I have another approved I140 with Company B in EB2 category(PD:05/2006) and i did not try to recapture my PD at that time.
My question is, if i interfile company B 140 with Company A 140 would i be able to recapture the EB3 priority date. I do not want to loose the old priority date.
Any pointers or own experiences would be helpful.

Guys,
Here how it goes, one of my friends visa date got current in June 2007. He applied for his I-140 and I-485. For some strange and unknown reason to me , he did not file I-485 for his wife who is on H4 and thought that he will file later once he gets his receipt. Now he has his receipt and was getting ready to file the i-485 for his wife it dawned on him that dates are retrogressed again and the lawyer told him that he cannot file I-485 for his wife. Now the situation is that he has to wait until the dates get current, but what if they dont and he gets his green and his wife dont which will automatically make his wife out of status and she has to go back and you all know how hard it is to sponsor on green card.
My question is that, is this the true statement that he cannot file I-485 for his wife due to retrogression since his wife is dependent and should be able to file since his dates were current?
If this statement is true what are the available options

Hi - I am currently on an L1 blanket visa and it looks like my company will sell the unit I work for in the US. The parent company will sell the US division - I am currently in the process of applying for my GC - with the I40, and I485 both pending. I had my biometrics done today.
Want to gain some views on what my options are if the GC route does not pan out. I am on a UK passport, and would like to remain in the states. The GC is an employment based application - which is apparently quick, but I want to have a plan B. Is the next best option the H1B, and if so, will I be able to apply for this (if needs be) inside the US with another company if they are prepared to take me on?

Two friends of mine were in the same situation.
In both cases dependent children were approved first, then primary applicant
(in one case in a 6 month after his dependent)

Last year I had a serious fire injury and was burned >60% . I was in the hospital for most of 2009 but back to work again. However, during this fire my both hands were badly burned and lost finger tips of both hands.
I have 485 pending and working on EAD. But not sure how this will impact my green card process ( if finger printing is required) or my reentry in US on Advance Parole. I would like to travel and visit India soon.
Any suggestions recommendations are highly appreciated.

I have applied EAD for my wife... while applying I misspelt my wife's first name and I haven't selected any service center, seems it automatically choosen NSC... but my 485 applied under TSC and the dates here are best like May 20, 2008 and the NBC is Mar 31, 2008...
How can I correct the name, can I do it at the time of finger print?
How can I change the service center?
I already sent email to EAD Deptt... In the meanwhile, I wd like to find from many experienced people like you...

Can we go to USCIS office after 90 days of filing I-485 to get EAD? Also, does the 90 day counter starts once we file or when we get the receipt from USCIS. Please advice!

The early retirement of US Senator Mel Martinez (R-FL) has opened up an appointment opportunity for Governor Charlie Crist, himself a candidate for Martinez's seat. Guys,
My company is forcing everyone to fill I9 form. I have EAD but maintaining H1 status and did not use EAD. I did some research on I9 and it is no where mentioned that only people with EAD has to fill this. I need Guru's opinion on this.
I just don't want to loose my H1 status in any case.
I-9 should be filled by every employee, irrespective of your visa status; Go through the list A, B and C documents, it is self explanatory. This is the proof that you reported to work.

Hi Friends,
I have approved I-140 (PD Sep,2007) but recently my H1 extension was denied so had to come on H4, so now what will happen to my GC, do I have to start from scratch OR my I-140 is still valid once I come back on H1 (with different employer).
