Recently my 140 was filed and the checks were cashed through ACH. I paid for PP and see that the checks were cashed on March 8th. My attorney has not received my receipt, I was wondering if there was anyway I can get the receipt number for the case so I can track it ...

Law.com reports that the American Bar Association is being pressured to move a conference in Phoenix scheduled for next week after its co-sponsor for the event, the National Legal Aid & Defender Association, announced it was pulling out of the event. I asked my attorney if we could anything about the delay in the issuance of EAD. My attorney mentioned that she would send an e-mail to USCIS. Is there an e-mail id that attorneys use to contact USCIS ? Offcourse, I could have asked my attorney, but I thought I would post the question here first.

Online petitions are useless...petitions need signatures and names that can be verified with sufficient contact information. Otherwise, what stops some unscrupulous person from piling up a billion "signatures" in support of the petition?

I'd suggest contacting Adobe. Surely if you have a product that supports the file-format, and an upgrade of the firmware changes that, it's part of Adobe's support package to allow an upgrade of the Raw File support.

Hi,
I had applied for 485 without EAD/AP since we wanted to file it on July 2nd. Still waiting for the receipt. Recently our lawyer sent the EAD/AP application based on the new rule, with just the FEDEX receipt confirmation of the 485 application. However, he sent the application to CA Service Center stating that based on the new direct filing rule, it can be sent to the local Service Center.
Is that right? Anyone with similar experience or insights. As far as I know it has to be sent to the same service center where we applied for 485 (NSC).
Any document or FAQ from USCIS that can clarify this issue?

I have a question about forming an LLC while being on H1B. I am entering into an agreement with an Incorporated company to provide my technical services to it and in return they need to give me a percentage of the revenue. Clearly, I cannot enter into this kind of arrangement as myself as I not authorized to work in the US. For that I am planning to form an LLC or an Incorporation and my company will enter into a contract with the other Incorporation. Is this legal or will this be construed as an effort to bypass H1B laws? I'll still be doing the daytime job and fulfilling my obligations that I have with the H1B sponsoring employer.
Please let me know your opinion.

The visa bulletin says "Effective Monday July 2, 2007 there will be no further authorizations inresponse to requests for Employment-based preference cases. All numbers available to these categories under the FY-2007 annual numerical limitation"
But doesnt that mean that no I485 authorizations will happen but filing can still be done and EAD received as de facto?
Please ask your respective lawyers to clarify this with USCICS/DOS.

my friend�s six years is going to complete in next month , he has applied labour certification via PARM 10 months back and its pending, did he is eligible to file 140? Or he has to live next month?

max, the problem is there is no clear cut definition of how an IO is supposed to respond to the scenarios you mentioned.
but i suggest that you search IV archives as this subject has been discussed in-depth before. i remember 1 or 2 ppl posting their AC21 and subsequent GC approval experience via self-employment/ LLC registration.

I have appeared for interviews in toronto. They have not looked at my pay stubs in detail. The most they would go is to check if you are still employed with the same firm. Again, this said each case is different. Stuff like Employer reputation, qualification etc., surely helps.
