second one in 2005 (eb3) still waiting. there are about 40k
people ahead of me. so about 14 years of wait assuming
3k EB3 GCs for india per year.
by that my daughter will be old enough to file my family based GC

EB3 is totally doomed. They are not even approving 140s for EB3, visa number issues come later. Although I've been doing it, I seriously didn't come here to spend my time writing letters just to get one simple application processed for which I'm overqualified (I am qualified for EB2, but my company pushed me into EB3). And yes, that doesn't work either. USCIS does have time to draft and send back a reply to the congresman but not to look at my simple and sweet case.
If they (USCIS) don't know what they are doing, who are we to educate them?

I just registered for IV. I wish I could come to DC rally on 18th. But due to certain unavoidable circumstances I may not be able too. Though not an excuse But I feel very guilty about it and this guilt will always remain there that I was not part of rally on 18th. I think all of us gave up - i.e gave up on our home country when we decided to settle here- there is nothing more to give up .. we are all just waiting passively for whatever destiny (USCIS and the economoy) has to hand it to us........... there is nothing to give up because nothing was yours from the beginning and nothing you will take with you when it is time to go.

You are correct, it took around 10 months. From prevailing wage to labor approval. 2 months I mean filing actual labor application to approval.

I am in the same boat, was planning to leave for India on 12/25 had to cancel tickets. My spouse is on an F1 and hence cannot re-enter without AP. Tried to expedite by contacting CSC, senator, congress rep. Know that it has been approved, but is waiting for production which could take 2-4 weeks. Applied on 08/03, notice date 09/13, supposedly approved on 12/12 awaiting production. This has been really frustrating. If you are on a valid H or L visa you can come back on it without any issue.

There are many people who have contributed and will be contributing again. But can I know how would more money would have helped convincing Senator Sessions to say "Yes" for the bill??
I am not sure if more money would have passed the bill in Lame Duck session without Senator Session approving it. Also, the lawyers ask only for the service they render to you. They dont ask money for keeping your application with them and unable to process because of retrogression.
You may want to get in touch with core members if you have questions. They are very prompt in answering questions.Such posts will only create roadblocks to the momentum created on the forum by some of our members. It is time to help rather than ask. We have seen in the lameduck session how close we came to getting the bill passed. If IV was not there, even this much was not possible. We give thousands of dollars to our lawyers, can't we simply give 20 dollars to IV without asking questions and believing in this cause?

We have sent letters in the past only to get a standard CANNED answer. It is my opinion that the letters we send do not have any impact, cos as soon as they see "Immigration" as the subject, they (staff) sends the standard letter they have definining the position back.

If you were going to do something in addition to the phone calls, Please set up an appointment w/the senator or staff and do a 20 minute Powerpoint presentation. That is more effective.
